Welcome to West Vine Street!
West Vine is a Kindergarten through Grade 5 Elementary School, and we house close to 340 wonderful students. Upon entering the school, you will notice that not only is it a physically beautiful school, but it possesses a warmth and welcoming atmosphere that all elementary schools should have.
This year, we are thrilled to introduce our school-wide theme: “Unleash Your Inner Hero.” We will be focusing on helping students recognize the strengths and unique qualities they each bring to our school community. Whether it's through academics, friendship, or emotional regulation, every child has a superpower waiting to shine!
West Vine is a special place, and we are proud of our vibrant and diverse community. Obviously, I am biased in this view. Therefore, do not just take my word for it. If you are new to the area, please call and schedule a time to visit and have a tour of the school.

About our school
West Vine Street School is a PreK-5 elementary school located in Pawcatuck, CT. West Vine is an inclusive school with approximately 358 students. Originally, there were 2 campuses, West Broad Street School, on 131 West Broad Street which housed grades 3-4 and our current address which housed graded K-2. As of March 2019, we moved into our new building which consists of a consolidated PreK-5 school.

The Connecticut State Department of Education has released a new accountability system for districts and schools based on 12 indicators.
West Vine Street School has been identified as "A School of Distinction" for The Highest Performing Subgroup in Academic Achievement.
